The technical crux of our circumnavigation comes early: A nearly 15-degree couloir followed by a treacherous traverse of the Interbay railroad tracks. Chris divebombs the couloir without incident, but despite my normally peerless skiing technique, I catch an edge after leaping a crevasse at the base of the couloir.
