Lounge Act

Nirvana

This is a simplified version of the song that I created for an 8-year-old student. It's played on just the 6th string. Instead of chord names, only the 6th string fret number is provided.

Playing a bass line on the 6th string is the easiest way to play a song on guitar--perfect for total beginners or kids who want to sing and play at the same time.

Intro:

/ 7 - - - / 3 - 8 - / x4 (bass only first two times)

7           3 (½)            8 (½)

Truth - covered in security

7     3 (½)                   8 (½)

I can't let you smother me

7     3 (½)                8 (½)

Like to but it wouldn't work

7     3 (½)           8 (½)

       Trading off taking turns

7         3 (½)               8 (½)

         I don't regret a thing

CHORUS:

         0 (½)     5  (½)       10 (½)   3  (½)

I've got this friend you see he makes me feel

0 (½)            5  (½)    10 (½)   3  (½)

And I wanted more than I could steal

0 (½)          5  (½)   10 (½)   3  (½)

I’ll arrest myself and wear a shield

0 (½)                5  (½)       10 (½)  3  (½)

I’ll move out of my way to prove I

5    4 (½)     3 (½)

Still

                 5        4 (½)     3 (½)

Smell her on you

  7        3 (½)              8 (½)

Don't - tell me what I wanna hear

7           3 (½)               8 (½)

         Afraid of never knowing fear

7            3 (½)             8 (½)

         Experience anything you need

7       3 (½)                   8 (½)

         I'll keep fighting jealousy

7        3 (½)               8 (½)

         'til it's frickin’ gone

CHORUS

Instrumental:

/ 7 - - - / 3 - 8 - /x2

Repeat First Verse

FINAL CHORUS:

         0 (½)     5  (½)       10 (½)   3  (½)

I've got this friend you see he makes me feel

0 (½)            5  (½)   10 (½)    3  (½)

And I wanted more than I could steal

0 (½)          5  (½)   10 (½)    3  (½)

I’ll arrest myself and wear a shield

0 (½)            5  (½)      10 (½)  3  (½)

I'll go outta my way to make you a deal

0 (½)            5  (½)   10 (½) 3  (½)

We've made a pact to learn from who

0 (½)            5  (½)     10 (½)   3  (½)

And whatever we want without new rules

0 (½)           5  (½)         10 (½)     3  (½)

We'll share what's lost and what we grew

0 (½)               5  (½)          10 (½)  3  (½)

They'll go out of their way to prove they

5    4(½)     3 (½)

Still

                5        4(½)     3 (½)

Smell her on you

5    4(½)     3 (½)

Still

                5        4(½)     3 (½)

Smell her on you

               5 (hold)

Smell her on you
