Guitar Music ArchivesThe Online Guitar Archive OLGA.net is the first place I go when I want to learn a song. It's a huge database of text files describing the guitar parts of popular music. Some will just show chords, others will provide individual notes of riffs and solos in tablature format. There are two drawbacks: For copyright reasons, only the first few words of each verse or chorus are listed. Also, the typical contributor to these kinds of archives is a teenage boy who just got an electric guitar for Christmas, so expect varying degrees of accuracy.
Other Guitar ResourcesVirtual Chordbook This is the best chord resource I've found on the web. Simply click the kind of chord you want, and the site shows you how to fret the chord. Click "strum" to hear how the chord should sound. You can also construct your own chords and find out what their names are. This site is so easy and fun that I once spent a half-hour playing songs on the virtual guitar.
Online Metronome You should use a real metronome--this one's a little shifty--but it does the job in a pinch.
Care and Feeding of Your Guitar Did you break a string and need to know how to replace it? Does your guitar's neck have the right amount of bow in it? Does it play in tune? This site will teach you all you need to know about caring for your guitar.
